Where the hell is Ira Glass when you need him?

Have you ever heard a really cool backing track on the Public Radio program “This American Life”, and wished that the annoying voiceover would stop so you could just listen to the music? This record sounds like that from start to finish, except without the chatter over the top. Christopher Brown (AKA Whitewater Graveyard) has created an LP of “kick back” instrumental hip-hop that we feel is actually less “whitewater” and more slow float down the River Styxx at sunset. We highly dig this stuff for the “space” that Chris employs in his productions (he would call it “organic”) – it leaves room for the beats to breath a little, we think. And with the exception of “Iron Bed” (which is really a great track but it STILL gives us nightmares), this “whitewater” experience is smooth sailing through and through.

Maybe we’ll send Ira a comp...
